COLPAI Project Weekly Works Update - Monday 26 August 2019

Dear Neighbour

During the COLPAI Project Public Meeting held yesterday evening (22/08) in the Golden Lane Estate Community Centre, some residents expressed confusion over the dates for the meeting. In the June 2019 Newsletter and during the July Drop-in Event the date for the August meeting was shared as Thursday 29 August.

This date was subsequently changed due to availability. The new date was shared with residents via the Golden Lane Estate noticeboards, individual letters sent to residents notifying them of the event, the July newsletter and through the COLPAI Project website.

Dates of Public Meetings and Drop-In’s are subject to change and we will always advertise the most up-to-date information in the monthly newsletter ahead of the events, on the project website and on the posters located on noticeboards around the estate.

We apologise for any confusion caused and remind residents that there will not be a public meeting on Thursday 29 August. The presentation shared during the most recent Public Meeting is now available through the COLPAI Project website at www.colpai-project.co.uk/s/August-Public-Meeting-Presentation. Full notes following the meeting, including the questions raised, will be circulated in due course.

Please see below activities relating to the COLPAI Project, which are due to take place from Monday 26 August 2019.

Highlights

  • Over the past week works have been undertaken to create a temporary crossover to Golden Lane, which will allow vehicles to cross the footpath and access the site. During these works we have discovered some unidentified services in the area of the footpath, ISG has temporarily suspended these works until the source of these can be identified. Works will recommence once this investigation has been completed.

Monday 26 August

  • The site will be closed for Bank Holiday

Tuesday 27 August - Friday 30 August
Works will include:

  • Breaking out hardstanding concrete along Golden Lane
  • Work on the Golden Lane footpath to install access crossover
  • Installation of a temporary fence hoarding along Basterfield Service Road
  • Removal of obstructions in ground
  • Lorries bringing backfill material into site
  • Excavators filling muck away lorries
  • Asbestos watching brief
  • Air quality monitoring
  • Environmental monitoring.

Saturday 31 August– Sunday 1 September

  • No works.

Notable Points

  • Asbestos removal works are being carried out in-line with guidance from the Health and Safety Executive
  • An environmental air analyst will be present to monitor the site during works
  • Works on the Golden Lane footpath will result in one section of the footpath being closed, with traffic management in place
  • Basterfield Service Road - access for emergency vehicles will be clear at all times.

CCTV on site

  • For additional security, ISG has installed a CCTV monitoring system. The site is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This system is only active within the site boundary and cannot be directed outside the boundary lines
  • A security guard is now on-site everyday between 7.00am - 6.30pm.

Deliveries

  • Muck-away lorries.

Non-ISG Works

  • Road sweeper in place to clean Golden Lane following the muck-away lorries leaving the site.
