Walked past the Shakespeare this morning and it was taped off with police tape and there was a police car and some city police there. Wondered if anyone knows what happened.

Yes shane,

The crescent house sign fell off the building so they where securing what was left of it!

A shame really it didn't blow away the whole lot! Ugly signs everywhere...

Yes, looks real ugly as it is now eh!

Crikey. I thought that something really bad had happened. Obviously it could have hurt someone but three policemen and a squad car.

Agree Shane. Does sound a bit excessive eh.

Crescent House has a Grade ll *, so think the sign will be replaced. And, why not?  Just hope they make sure it doesn't fall off again. But, I suppose that's not bad after 50 years!  Just hope its not a bad omen, as I love living in Crescent House.

The signage around the city is part of what designates it as unique. It plays an important role in letting people know that this is a special place. Describing it as simply 'ugly' and should be removed seems a little careless. I made a video about signage around the city that I hope gives people a better appreciation of it's significance...

I agree with you Michael.  These signs are part of our Estate, and I certainly hope the 'gap' is filled again soon, as it looks ugly as it is right now.
