Money
Has any of the Shed Money been used? I seem to remember there was quite a bit of money available but (mainly) due to dithering and general faffing around it hasn't - as far as I'm aware - been used.
Must be handy for something.

Hi Nick,
The shed money is an issue at the moment as the City has put it in a pot with all its other estates and siphons off a third every two? years into the HOusing Revenue Account. The way that the money is allocated also seems to be arbitrary.
On behalf of GLERA Vernon, the treasurer and myself have been asking why this has changed and have been making suggestions that the way the money is allocated could be made more democratic.
We have also been questioning the principle of charging for the sheds in the first place.

Thanks Tim. From what I remember, about 10K had accumulated solely for the use of Golden Lane. However if nothing was forthcoming by a particular date (two or three years ago) the money would either be lost or a different arrangement re its use would be made. This might well have resulted in the arrangement you mention.
Quite a shame because the then Committee received a number of sensible and useful ideas which were more or less dismissed by the then Chairman and of course nothing happened.
As an occupier of one of the said sheds it would be good not to have to pay for it...
