Concerned about proposed Concrete crushing on Colpai site?

Golden Lane Estate Residents’ Association (GLERA)

COLPAI Building Works – 8th February 2019

GLERA is concerned about, dust noise and vibrations and the plans to do concrete crushing on site. We don’t know yet when the concrete crushing will start.

What is concrete crushing? You can view what it will be like on YouTube.

Crushing Concrete Lord Muck

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgZ3J-L70h0

It will be very noisy for 4 hours per day until the 2000 cubic metres of concrete is crushed. How noisy and dirty? Very!!

Why? We are told it is for “environmental reasons” so that there will not be lots of trucks to take away the waste concrete ….but we think it might be about saving money on landfill costs and tax. In truth no-one has considered the impact on residents’ health and well-being. Asbestos has been found on site and the HSE has been informed. What is the impact on residents? GLERA will keep asking questions. There is also asbestos in the concrete slab which is to be crushed on site

How can I complain or make my views known?

You can ring or send an email or letter to the council officers and local political representatives. Here is a list of contacts. The site is in Islington so we have included Islington contacts as well
