DESCRIPTION:The next GLERA meeting will be on Monday 31 October @ 7pm 
 downstairs in the community centre.\r\n\r\nWe’ll be reporting back o
 n GLERA committee efforts to follow up on frustration expressed at the
  AGM around reporting repairs and anti-social behaviour.  Our local MP
  Nickie Aiken will be there along with many of our local councillors a
 nd our new Alderwoman, Sue Pearson.\r\nWe’ll also have useful inform
 ation about what help should be on offer to mitigate against the cold 
 this winter, along with feedback from the Insulate Golden Lane worksho
 p...\r\n\r\nThe City of London have been working on some insulation me
 asures and Jason Hayes from the Major Works team will bring along exa
 mples to the workshop, showing how they can be implemented with little
  disruption. Things like draft strips, thermal curtains, thermostatic 
 radiator valves, silver foil behind radiators.   All the measures wil
 l be free to tenants and it's hoped leaseholders will be able to benef
 it from bulk buying with anticipated lower prices than purchasing ind
 ependently. Along with testing out on voids (empty flats) Jason is loo
 king for a tenant from each block to participate in a pilot scheme so 
 that people can see the measures in place and know how much time and h
 assle it takes.  The City will very shortly follow up with a residentÂ
  survey to see which of these measures are of interest. \n\nFor more
