City of London Brass Band to launch at St Giles' Cripplegate

City of London Brass Band is an exciting new music project run by traditional British brass band network, North London Brass, rehearsing at St Giles' Cripplegate, the church in the Barbican.

It's our vision to build a wonderful band of musicians drawn from the diverse communities of residents, workers, students and visitors that make up the area's rich diversity - a band of which the community can be proud and enjoy hearing perform.

City of London Brass Band will be rehearsing Wednesday evenings at: 

St Giles' Cripplegate 
Fore Street 
Barbican 
London 
EC2Y 8DA 

North London Brass works with around 100 players rehearsing at our existing bases in Enfield, Muswell Hill and Putney. We perform at some great places and events including The Royal Hospital Chelsea, The London Marathon, The Royal Air Force Museum London, Alexandra Palace, Dean's Yard Westminster Abbey and more.

We're recruiting now for our new City of London Band and we welcome experienced brass players of any existing standard, returning players (the current record is some 40 years between putting down and picking up instruments!) and learners of all ages.

We work with excellent professional coaching staff and encourage a supportive and inclusive environment.

Not to play Martyn.  I used to watch, and photograph the Friary Meux Brass Band in the 80`s!

Okay, Steve, that will be the band currently known as the 'Friary Guildford Band', and who appeared in the National Brass Band Finals at the Royal Albert Hall last weekend.

We won't be as good as them yet, but if you fancy coming down to have a listen and photograph us, that will be fine too :-)
