There is a planning application for the empty shop - formerly Cost Cutter -  under Crescent House to change its use to a dentist.

This seems to be a shame as the parade will be even more dead and unfriendly than it is now, especially at night. However, the parade is not well maintained or managed so it is pretty unappealing to retailers. A dentist may be better than an empty shop.

Unfortunately there is no information on the planning application about how it will look.  Will they blank out the windows?  Will they remove the external shutters as stipulated in the Listed Building Management Guidelines?

The details are at:

Yes, the parade of shops needs a tidy up really and a dentist..............arrr!

I meant arrr, because it was a dentist.  A community shop would have been far more useful.
