Filming in Fann Street!!

Can there be some kind of emergency meeting with regard to illegal filming in and around GLE?In Fann Street this week alone we’ve had Two film crews, the first lot left behind 10 helium gas canisters (full size) and litter strewn everywhere. The second lot (tonight) were moved on 3 times by the police, and we had to endure 3 hours of disturbance!!The CoL Police received numerous calls, regarding the filming, only to turn up half an hour later, and stayed for approx 5 minutes and politely asked them to move on!! Which it took a further hour for them to leave, and again Fann Street left strewn with litter. With the surrounding Street closures around the Estate (Beech St, Golden Lane. Fortune St, and Brackley St) Fann Street is taking the brunt of Noise pollution, as well as these Film Crews. I did inform the Alderman of this last year, but not surprisingly if it isn’t Barbican Related, then there’s no interest. It all feels like no one wants to get involved or try to prevent further…See More

David Graves (your Alderman) commented on Sue Pearson's blog post CITY OF LONDON CORPORATION FAILS ITS RESIDENTS
"Paul, I'm surprised that referring to an audience caused you such upset. By "audience" I mean those who follow this site and the conversations/discussions which happen here. I expect that most of these are residents, but not…"

Save Bernard Morgan House

City of London

All the drilling and banging is a nightmare when trying to work from home, and I am about half way up GAH. It must be even worse for people living lower down or in the nearby flats.

Why did they decide to do the works during lockdown? I am sure it is not essential work and could have waited until restrictions are lifted. .

Actual torture. And we’re still supposed to be staying indoors. What about people shielding/sick/Covid-anxious?

You’d think they didn’t care about us...

Whenever I have to nip out I realise how noisy it is down there, it must be hell for anyone stuck at home living lower down.We get all these leaflets through the door from COL regarding residents well being during the pandemic, and yet we have to put up with this.

On top of that, when I came back today there was a row of vans parked right across the front of GAH with not much of a gap between them all. Anyone with a wheelchair or pram, or large delivery would have had trouble getting past them. Why do the estate staff let them park there like that?

Huge sympathy those of us facing the Denizen must be in our 3rd year of noise from demolition of the lovely Bernard Morgan House, the building of the Denizen and next they plan to dig up the pavement surrounding the entire block (pneumatic drills) to lay York Paving. Probably when it's hot weather and we need open windows.
I hope your pain is over soon

Alex, the meeting was two days ago.
