The Alderman and several Cripplegate Common Councillors visited Great Arthur house yesterday.
the design appears to be very different from Grenfell Tower and therefore not so vulnerable. There is no sprinkler system - as in most flats in the UK>
I spoke to my son yesterday who lives on the 42nd floor of a block in Tokyo, Japan and he tells me he has 8 sprinklers in his living room.
Also in Great Arthur there is no alarm system and fire drills do not appear to be carried out. I think there are a lot of questions which need to be asked so that residents can be reassured. Please make sure you come to our meeting on Monday 26th June at 7pm at Golden Lane Community Centre where Terence Short, City of London Fire Safety Officer, will speak on fire safety on our estates and you will have an opportunity to question and discuss with your elected common councillors any other issues you want to raise.

Were you accompanied by a Fire Safety Expert Mary - as far as I am aware, neither the Alderman or any of our Ward Councillors are professional fire safety experts?

Did you actually speak to any of us who have lived in GAH for decades or was it the usual Housing Management Guided Tour for bigwigs?
