New Culture Mile and GSMD poetry commission unveiled on World Poetry Day

A new poetry commission will be unveiled this week at the Culture Mile’s Moor Lane Community Garden to coincide with World Poetry Day on Sunday 21 March. The poem, a portrait of you in a garden, now, written by poet former Barbican Young Poet Kit Finnie, appears across eight panels, as part of the urban garden’s structure, which is inspired by the iconic architecture of the Barbican and London Wall. The physical poem is complemented online by a suite of accompanying works, including a creative video commission created by filmmaker and recent Guildhall School graduate Em Davis, with design Charlie Vince-Crowhurst (BA (Hons) Video Design for Live Performance)and music by Sam Storey (BMus (Hons) Film Music) both current students.
