Hi All,

I think it'd be great to set up a small workshop somewhere on the estate for anyone to use. It wouldn't need much more than a solid work surface, a vice and perhaps some tools, although it could also operate under a BYO tools arrangement. I'm often building stuff and finding my own flat's not quite cut out for it - there must be plenty of other people in the same situation. It'd also help keep DIY noise to a minimum.

I seem to remember some mention of this having existed in the past but can't find any mention of it on the forums here, so perhaps I'm imagining it.

Does anyone know of an appropriate room on the estate going unused?

This is a really interesting idea. I think that there are quite a lot of rooms in basements of all the buildings that used to be wash rooms etc. Worth investigating.

Right, I'll look into commandeering one of them. Who do you think the right person to approach is? Should I start with Ian?
