Between the Storeys is a collaboration between Poet in the City and Culture Mile, using poetry and film to animate the stories, histories and experiences of different communities living within the historical boundaries of Smithfield.

See the world premier of the Between the Storeys films at Smithfield 150 Festival. The screenings will take place throughout the weekend, with audiences being invited to enter the Silent Cinema shipping container, don headphones, and experience the films in an intimate environment. The films will be complemented by Q&A's with director Charlotte Ginsborg and three live poetry events with the poets, Murray Lachlan Young, Imtiaz Dharker and Joshua Idehen. 

From encounters with skeletons deep beneath the Museum of London, to skyline views from brutalist tower blocks, the artists have ventured up, down and in-between the parallel layers of living that exist within Smithfield. The pieces they created echo the collective voices of a community: early morning meat market moments; snippets from the school yard; the rhythm fuelled roar of ravers at Fabric.
