Last night’s Public Meeting on the developing proposals for housing and a new academy at the RCS site was a great success.  I was hugely impressed with the presentation and campaign.  The momentum clearly needs to be continued with vigor to influence the decision making process to get a development that is sensible and to scale with Golden Lane Estate.  I wonder the extent to which the different funding sources makes the development of a coherent and fully integrated proposition more difficult to achieve.  In the event of me being selected as a Common Councilman for Cripplegate Ward I will play my part to get Islington Council to adopt the sort of solution developed by Charles Humphries last night.

Thank you for taking the time to come down Mark, we appreciate the support. I think the path that the scheme is on is headed for difficulties and substantial delay at planning and the modest changes that we have requested will avoid these, save time and improve the quality of life all round for both the existing tenants and the new ones.

Your right Charles, total rethink is essential, otherwise there will be delays and legal challenges.

The City is causing unnecessary distress, it is unethical, then again they have far greater percentage of support from the undemocratic, male biased dominated City business vote, ignoring and brushing aside the residential voters, lets hope they see sense and listen to everyone's views.

The City should have appointed a team from the resident based architects within Golden Lane. I would like the appointed architects to invite Golden Lane architects, and representatives to ensure total redesign before submitting to planning.
