Filming in Fann Street!!

Can there be some kind of emergency meeting with regard to illegal filming in and around GLE?In Fann Street this week alone we’ve had Two film crews, the first lot left behind 10 helium gas canisters (full size) and litter strewn everywhere. The second lot (tonight) were moved on 3 times by the police, and we had to endure 3 hours of disturbance!!The CoL Police received numerous calls, regarding the filming, only to turn up half an hour later, and stayed for approx 5 minutes and politely asked them to move on!! Which it took a further hour for them to leave, and again Fann Street left strewn with litter. With the surrounding Street closures around the Estate (Beech St, Golden Lane. Fortune St, and Brackley St) Fann Street is taking the brunt of Noise pollution, as well as these Film Crews. I did inform the Alderman of this last year, but not surprisingly if it isn’t Barbican Related, then there’s no interest. It all feels like no one wants to get involved or try to prevent further…See More

We were appalled that the wonderful Crescent House walkway gardens have been destroyed.  Below - a photo taken recently in Stanley Cohen.  It shows a row of little plants, not placed on the walkway…Continue

Relocation of Golden Lane Estate Office

A notice has been posted in the entrance area of Stanley Cohen House asking for email feedback on proposals for re-siting the Golden Lane Estate Office.   But we can't find the relevant website and the closing date is today! So here are our responses:-We're delighted that the initial idea to move the Estate Office to the Community Centre has now been abandoned, and hope that the newly sited office will have enough space to hold keys to all the flats on the estate (as in the Barbican). The…See More

Hello Brigid.  Thanks for the message of support.  Much appreciated.  I have spoken to my solicitor, and the Corporation have at last agreed to mediate with me over the garden issue.  My solicitor backed them into a corner, as there is a court hearing next month and she told them she would tell the Court about their lack of responding.  I also have a barrister, who is a QC, 2 fire reports which show the garden was never a fire hazard, and am obtaining a full medical report from my doctor, showing just how much stress I suffered over it.  I intend to get the garden back, which will also help others, who have had their plants removed.  The fight goes on!
