Islington Council are putting in a planning permission request to redevelop Richard Cloudesley school into housing.  No details on the p.p. notices up outside the school on Golden Lane, just that an indication of the area to be redeveloped can be viewed inside the school (which I did, it's not very informative - just shows the floor plan of the school) and that there will be a chance to ask questions/ voice concerns on Weds 13th June (I think between 3 and 8).

A bit more information here: http://www.islington.gov.uk/democracy/reports/reportdetail.asp?Repo... - looks as if they're proposing 126 affordable housing flats

I should imagine this would impact most heavily on Basterfield and Hatfifeld House - both of which overlook the site.

From the documents it looks like it is the college building that will form the City's contribution but will be interesting if this extends back into the Estate and the allotments etc. I am not unsupportive of the proposal in principle. I just wonder how high it will be and whether those of us in Basterfield House will feel more overlooked and hemmed in than at present.

I am not giving up my allotment!!!!!

p.s. The attached link is broken, so can`t view it.

For anyone following this thread... note that Paul has created a separate discussion thread for the Richard Cloudesley site under a general group about Planning Issues Affecting The Estate, so you may wish to start following that thread...

... And blatant plug - I am about to post an update on that discussion thread that may be of interest as it confirms the City's involvement in the previously noted Islington proposal.

Thanks for that Peter.  The link opens with "page not found"?

Thanks Steve - Link above now fixed.
