Fusion Lifestyle, The City and the faulty alarm, GLE leisure centre

The unmonitored intruder alarm was sounding loud as ever from 23:05 till 23:25, no one was in attendance, the Police do not respond to the intruder alarm, City of London do not respond to this alarm, Fusion do not respond to this alarm.

Does anyone know what the alarm is for?

Now, this comment certainly made me laugh!

Certainly do, and we're all terribly keen to make things nice for the new residents of the Fourth Barbican Tower when they arrive. So it's lights out early for you lot I'm afraid, an 11pm curfew for Golden Lane, to clear the streets for limousines and Fine Dining... after which any council tenants will be shot.

The alarm is for the purposes of practice, to get you all in the swing of things.

Jolly well done for noticing, Golden Lane!

Nathan, I totally agree with what you say about us residents not being notified of this noisy work on the tennis courts.  I thought it started about 8am, and its going on and on, and on.  Its a horrible noise, especially for those poor residents living directly over the tennis courts.  Why on earth were none of us notified of this?  It appears there is no respect, or consideration for us residents.  I wonder how long this racket is going on for?  Maybe, we might get an apology from Fusion or the City for the inconvenience, which is the very least they could do.

Yeah, it started at 8am.  Was it that essential that it had to start so frigging early.

Good job there wasn't  a netball tournament in the evening with over a hundred people and a drinks stall with the shouting screaming grunting and the constant whistle blowing, and to top it of the alarm blaring all night, or else they might have been up for some kind of record,

Fusion Lifestyle = neighbours from hell.

:-)

I wonder if the Barbican estate would be made to or  put up with this?

Is that what I have been listening to all day?

What is almost fairly amusing is the notice I have seen at the Ralph Perring Centre asking people to 'respect the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum'.  Or something along those lines.

Rick.  I understand someone from Fusion is attending the Residents' Open Meeting on Tuesday.  Maybe that might be a good time to raise this issue.  I am also concerned that there is nothing on the agenda for 'any other business', which is what a normal agenda for meetings should have, to give people the opportunity to raise their issues.

Hi Rick - yes someone did raise it.

Not very convincing response from Fusion though - apparently the alarm company rings "a woman who lives near by".

There wasn't much of an answer to the question "and what if she's out?"

The manager says that the alarm company ring him when the alarm bells sound, then he rings a lady who lives somewhere to the east, the lady then  dawns her magical invisible cloak and runs like the wind to the leisure centre and turns the alarm off, she is also blessed with  feline night vision as she does all this in darkness by the moonlight without opening the leisure centre door nor does she require  the lights to be switched on whilst under her cloak of invisibility.

Did anyone here the compressor at the leisure centre this morning? I am assuming that is what it was, there was a van down there this morning, again assuming that they were the gardeners watering the plants around the tennis courts.

Alarm is on the go tonight, wonder how long it will take the invisible woman to show up, the joys of living on a well managed corp estate.

Summers here and so is the faulty intruder alarm, its in fine fettle today Sunday, have the windows closed now, either that or go insane listening to it. I know better than to ring the Environmental Health nor Fusion Lifestyle a waste of time. Frozen in the winter, baked in the summer.
