Hello,

Is anyone else in Bayer House frequently having trouble getting Channel 4 & ITV?

(If is is just us, then it is clearly a problem with our cables inside - if anyone else has the problem, then it is a problem with the block's cables)

Thanks ever so much!

yes i have been having terrible trouble with itv channels and we r in cuthbert
I too had problems recently with itv reception in GAH. I use an EYE TV tuner stick for Mac, which plugs in to the TV socket and plays live TV through my laptop. I borrowed an upgraded TV stick (EYE TV Diversity) from a friend, which seemed to solve the problem of bad reception. Probably not useful advice if you watch telly on a conventional TV set but it may highlight the issue that some sets/devices may be affected by any tinkering at the Crystal Palace TV mast. I say this because a friend of mine who lives in Turnpike Lane encountered the same problem at the same time.

I've found that the next best thing to watching live telly is to stream live TV over the internet. Try using http://www.tvcatchup.com/ Once you sign up you can access all of the freeview channels in almost real time (approx. 1 minute lag from live TV). The drawbacks are that you cannot record programmes and the picture quality isn't so great.
Can everyone who is experiencing problems with the TV reception please email me at wendy.giaccaglia@cityoflondon.gov.uk with your address and contact telephone number so that I can call it into the aerial maintenance contractor.
Thank you
Thanks for this! Having made contact with you, I got a call from the aerial maintenance people, and they are coming out to look at it early on Monday.

Might I suggest that anyone else who has a problem gets in contact too, because no doubt it would be more efficient if the aerial people could look at more than one thing on Monday.

Hi Lucy,

I have had problems as well....i thought it was a problem with Sky. An engineer visited and found the incoming cable to be defective.

Not sure if this helps you?

Good luck!

Thanks Ashlyn - v helpful actually.
Hello! The engineer came, and fiddled about with the cable for the block, and now our Channel 4/ITV reception is much better. So hopefully that will go for everyone else too.

Thanks Wendy!
