City of London

There are two important events happening tomorrow

The first starts at 11.00 at the allotments for a protest and interview with Islington Gazette about the Richard Cloudesly redevelopment

The second runs from 11.30 - 2.30 there will be workshop with the community centre architects to determine the look, feel and furnishing of the refurbished community centre.

So two very important things to get involved in.

Both were really good events with a big turn out of residents despite the short notice. The photographer was on time and took lots of shots, let hope we get front page coverage.
The community centre workshop was well managed by the architects, Studio Partington, and James Illsley the CoL project manager. Following an excellent presentation of the overall project we discussed the hall, entrance area, toilet areas and the spaces down stairs. Feedback from the architects was that it was brilliant to get so much more background information about what the building used to be like and all our ideas about the materials and colours that the refurbished building should have. James took copious notes and all the post it's will be written up too. They hope to have a leaflet out as soon as possible that people who couldn't attend can read and make any further comments. The project will to go out to tender by the end of April and work will start in the summer.
A big thank you to everyone who came.
