Peoples Protest Placards Golden Lane Community Centre

One-day exhibition of protest placards made by residents. In recognition of May Day as International Workers’ Day and May Day the Distress call, you are invited to drop in and make a placard around any issues, ideas or emergencies you want to speak out about.

A special children’s placard-making workshop will run alongside the exhibition.

A wonderful project where you are invited to draw your individual monster and contribute to the Creative Monsters Collective.

Golden Lane Allotments - Sunflowers for Ukraine

The Baggers and friends are busy planting out hundreds of sunflower seeds in a concerted community effort to raise funds for Ukraine. Sunflower seeds and seedlings will be sold on the day to support Ukraine Charities.

No space to grow a sunflower, then make a pledge and the Baggers and friends will endeavour to grow as many sunflowers as possible for display around the Estate in late Summer.

The Community Café will be based in Ralph Perring Centre next to the allotments.

Special activities for children around the allotments and Hatfield lawn will feature flower garlands, seed caterpillars and seedballs for bees and butterflies, organised by Culture Mile and Big City Butterflies

Barbican Wildlife Garden 2.00-4.00

Volunteers will be on hand to introduce you to the bio-diversity haven of the Barbican Wildlife Garden. Not normally open to the public, this is a rare opportunity to visit this sanctuary and appreciate the efforts and will of local residents in creating such a special place.
