A consultation is currently taking place at Bernard Morgan House. It closes today at 4pm.  Having visited, I would like to take some time to think about the best response to the proposals.

Note that it is also possible to contact the consultation agency direct:

Many of the discussions today were about the plans drawn up by the developers Taylor Wimpey and the architects AHMM. However the decision on height, size etc is mainly being determined by the City of London planning department and not by the developers or their contractors.  For example, the City is suggesting that the new building should be roughly in line with the Cripplegate Library/UBS building next door. This has led to a building that at this stage, appears to be overbearing.  It reaches the street line and will clearly have a big impact on both Bowater House and Fortune Park.

I think that whatever the detail of the design, the City and the architects need to think about what they can learn from Golden Lane.  Many people come to this estate as students to see how it was designed, what an opportunity to learn from Golden Lane and then put it into practice next door.

So lightness, colour, space to breathe.....are all worth considering.
