City of London Corporation Finance Committee AGREE £20Million Funding for Golden Lane 2017

Finally some really great news, the City of London Corporation, New Common Council, Finance Committee, have AGREED £20Million funding.

for Golden Lane. This funding was approved by the newly appointed members of the Finance Committee. The funds have been earmarked for the re-opening of one of London's first roof gardens, above Great Arthur House. Each of the other blocks will also have their own roof gardens, with barbeque areas. In additional funds will also be used to replace all of the ceramic tiles on Bernard Cohen House.

There will be solar panels in appropriate areas, generating free electricity for communal areas and for the community centre.

The Estates Office will be allocated an extra £1Million for additional staff, which will be needed once the new flats on the Richard Cloudesley School site have been built.

In addition the Finance Committee agreed to cancel all service charges, as two independent chartered surveyors have provided reports confirming that the neglect is historic lack of maintenance.

Meeting was held at the Guildhall, just after Midnight 1st April 2017
