I'm sure everyone is aware, but phone snatchings continue in our area. Last night at 8:50pm I witnessed a guy on a bicycle snatch a phone from a young man who was crossing Fann Street at Goswell Road. We used my phone to call the police, who declined to send an officer to take a report. (They took it over the phone.) The victim was shaken-- a student who had just been cheated in some student accommodation scam, and was on his way to a friend's accommodation and was using his phone maps to find the way. Awful.

I was surprised to learn that, in 2017 at least, Islington-Bunhill was the worst section of London for phone snatchings. In November of that year two guys on a moped tried to take mine from me in front of the Virgin Active office by Blake Tower. I managed to hold on to it in that instance, luckily.

Be careful and vigilant!
