Hello Sandra

I received a pre planning notification so was able to alert the residents. The application had plans showing the masts in plan and elevation all over the roof of Bowater House. The building is listed Grade 2. Nearly every resident of the block wrote to object as did other residents of the estate, the developer of the nearby development site and the local primary school. The landlord (City of London Corporation Housing department) had also not been informed and objected because the roof of the building is likely to have to be reroofed in the next few years.

Individual letters of objection to the planning department are more effective than group ones. Visual amenity, potential health issues and suitability of the locations with regard to building maintenance are important. Check your local plan for any issues like visual clutter too. Good luck. Sue
