You will have heard that the Community Centre is closing and that there are plans to convert it to the Estate Office and City of London Community Education Centre (COLCEC) with some unspecified community facilities.
This is your chance to influence the brief and what happens to the Community Centre for YOUR benefit before consultants are appointed.
The Estate Office has said what they want. COLCEC have said what they want. We need to ensure that the City of London hears what residents want.
You are invited to an Open meeting / workshop run by Dave Walker of Southwark Mediation Services.
This is open to everyone who lives on the estate – we really need your views and opinions
If you can’t attend there is a box for ideas in the Estate office along with the information provided by the City.

I wasn't able to take part, as a result of a prior commitment, but am keen to be involved in any follow up, not least having taken part in the community centre consultation some months back.
I'm afraid that I cannot make tonight's meeting but I strongly oppose the loss of the community centre to the Estate. The hall is heavily and well used these days for dance and exercise classes and other events: surely that is bringing in money to the coffers. As for the bar, it could be redesigned as it is really large and low and some space created (with access to natural light facing the pool) for the Estate offices, but we should not cede space/functions to provide for what the Corporation wants for the Guildhall. I can't even understand how that would be allowed as the Estate has a unity which should not be destroyed. Martha Mundy 1 Stanley Cohen House
