I've noticed a lot of bicycles being chained up in the Crescent House public areas, which is obviously not great; potential obstacles during a fire, etc.

However I saw some notices on these bikes today threatening removal by the very next day. I think it is law that any local authority must give 14 days notice before a bicycle is removed. If it is not law, I think it would be at least decent of the estate to give more than 1 day for these guys to remove their bikes.

When I first moved here several years ago I didn't know you weren't to lock your bike in the building and was given 14 days and the option of a key to the bicycle storage area, rather than a 24 hour ultimatum. Unfortunately my bike was repeatedly damaged in there by other bikes being dragged past mine, so I have some sympathy. Then there was the thefts in there too last year, and so I now keep mine off the estate.

Roll on cycle storage improvements for GLE (pun intended).
