Since the Referendum there have been reports of a rise in hate crimes.
Speaking personally I have a close friend of African-Caribbean ancestry, born in this country and abused & insulted and told to 'go home'. I have a friend, an old neighbour who has remonstrated with an abusive man yelling at Chinese tourists, I have friends in the LGBT community who are fearful that ,'they are next' and last but not least Jewish and Muslim friends who feel fearful. None of these people live on this estate.
It is clear to me that there are many people living on this estate or work on this estate who may have experienced abuse or feel fearful.

It is vital that we challenge racism and hate and report it to the police.

It would be great to hear from others if you would be willing to offer friendship to people on this estate who are worried.

Any idea of how we might get together to help and support our neighbour's under these unpleasant times would be welcome.
If you have suffered abuse or feel fearful and need someone to talk to let me know by sending me a message on here.

I have not seen any such unpleasant behaviour coming from anyone on this Estate.  Sadly, I did however see in the media that a protester had a placard taken away by police, which read,' Hope All Old White People Die Soon'!  People need to support one another, and get on with their lives, and move forward.  A decision for Britain's future has been made, and there is no room for any hate, whoever it comes from.

I want to comment on this but I really don't want for it to get bogged down in a political debate. As with a lot of things in life these sad individuals are like moths to a light. They have been given what they think is a platform to spout their vile rubbish. I'll put it out there right now that I voted out and that I am a Tory. These days it's sad but true that I can't really admit that without a tirade of abuse accusing me of all sorts or a brick through the window. I'm a real working class person as well. I am surrounded by a multitude of people from every country you can think of. I have friends from the Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and many other faiths yet according to the media I am a racist. I'm sorry, I said it wouldn't be political. Racism should be challenged in every form no matter who it is from. I believe that Brexit has given some ill educated idiots a reason to do what they do the same as ISIS has given some ill educated people the reason to do what they do. I personally emailed the Polish embassy to give my support to the polish people in light of the abuse they have suffered. I am informed enough to know what they did for this country in the second world war. So saying that it appears that the main thing that people lack is education. If anyone of any race needs a chat feel free to message me. I'm above hate

Hi Shane

Very well said.  Good for you.  Yes, sadly, hatred comes from all sorts of people, who are making this issue a racial one.  I have also been called names for how I voted, and I find it equally offensive, yet it appears I have to put up with it.  However, these idiots are in the minority, and lets hope they one day they realise just how pathetic they are.
